Robert Adamo has spent more than 40 years working in the residential and commercial real estate industry. During that time, he has been active in all forms of real estate acquisition approvals and development.
Mr. Adamo began his career building custom homes throughout New York and New Jersey. As he expanded his business, he successfully designed and built over 4,000 single-family homes, townhouses, commercial and mixed-use buildings across 78 subdivisions. His development projects include more affordable homes beginning at $200,000 to luxury custom homes priced as much as $2 million.
As the company grew, it was beneficial for Mr. Adamo to gain greater control over the entitlement and development process. To do this, he founded an engineering and heavy equipment company, which helps control project costs and construction schedules.
In the early ’90s, the real estate recession prompted Mr. Adamo to change the direction of the company. He spent the next several years developing innovative solutions to recession-related problems, not only for Robert Michael LLC, but also for real estate lenders, investors, bankers, and clients. His prior experience gave him the knowledge needed to turn around several troubled projects. Utilizing value engineering and redesigning, he is able to add value and successfully remarket.
By the mid-'90s, as the market recovered, Mr. Adamo began building single-family, multifamily, and midrise structures throughout New York, New Jersey, and Massachusetts. He focused on developing opportunities for partnerships, investments and began working with other groups of investors to provide funding and building opportunities.
Mr. Adamo has been an active member of the New Jersey Builder’s Association for the past 25 years and has actively pursued the association’s interests by working with governmental agencies related to environmental, legislative, legal action, and regulatory reform in an attempt to simplify or streamline the regulatory morass.
Mr. Adamo, an Arizona resident since 2006, now actively pursues real estate projects and opportunities in Arizona, Nevada, New Jersey, Massachusetts, and New York.
